Scrabble Blast

Scrabble Blast is an online Scrabble game which can be downloaded and played by a single person. Scrabble Blast takes elements of Scrabble and combines them with video game concepts derived from Space Invaders and games of that type, specifically an progressively difficult game board. Scrabble Blast is not only a word game, but also a race against time.

Scrabble Blast Game Screen

The game screen on Scrabble Blast shows a fairly typical looking Scrabble board. On the board are random letter tiles scattered about. The player is expected to use these letters to build as many words as possible.

Meanwhile, "bomb squares" begin to appear on the top row of the board. A bomb square is a letter square with a bomb icon on it. These bomb will periodically shift downwards along the Scrabble screen. If one of the bombs reaches a square on the lowest letter row on the screen, then your game is over and the final score is tallied.

Destroying the Scrabble Bombs

If you build a word across a square with a bomb on it, then the bomb disappears. A Scrabble blast occurs, depicting the bomb blowing up. When you perform this action, you get extra points.

Progressively More Difficult Word Game

The more points you accumulate, the faster the Scrabble bombs get. The point values of making a word increase, too, though eventually the bombs are going to become so fast that the game will be over.

Building Words in Scrabble Blast

Unlike in Classic Scrabble, you can build words diagonally in Scrabble Blast. You'll be able to make diagonal, horizontal and vertical words. This makes the game somewhat easier, once you grow accustomed to seeing words in a diagonal fashion.

Scrabble Blast Updates

Newer versions of Scrabble Blast add double-word and triple-word scores. This increases scoring on Scrabble Blast, while also making Scrabble Blast a bit more like Classic Scrabble.
