Scrabble Solver
Scrabble Solved
The “Scrabble Solver” is another name for the Scrabble helper program or the Scrabble wordfinders we’ve been discussing so much this week. I’ll go over that in a bit, but let’s discuss the basics: a Scrabble solver is a word search program meant to help people playing online Scrabble, Lexulous or other word games.
When you put a combination of letter or letter tiles to be “solved”, the Scrabble solution spit out is a list of words. The list comprises all the words in the English language (or whatever language you use for word games) that you can make with those letters. Some Scrabble solvers are more elaborate than others, letting you set the beginning or ending letter of the word, or adding more or less blank tiles to your letter combinations.
Other word solver programs aren’t specifically for Scrabble, but for other words games, crosswords and anagrams you might be solving at the moment. For instance, you might not have heard of Lexulous, but if you’re played online Scrabble for any length of time, you are no doubt aware of the Lexulous peoples’ Internet work.
Lexulous Online Word Game
The people who own Lexulous used to own Scrabulous, the Internet’s foremost online Scrabble site at the time. The Scrabulous Scrabble playing community was the largest and most robust on the web, with thousands of players and hundreds of games going at a time. That’s until Hasbro threatened to sue Scrabulous for using a word that “sounded like Scrabble”, according to a New Delhi court ruling. (Lexulous is owned by a pair of Hindi 20-somethings.)
So the guys changed their name to Lexulous and now play a slightly different word game. Instead of 7 letter tiles, each player has 8 letter tiles. The top multiple word score is 4x instead of 3x. The player records from the old Scrabulous days are back in place. Lexulous has over 500,000 followers on Facebook.

All that I mention to say that Scrabble Solvers can help with solving other word game puzzles, too. With that in mind, let’s review what we’ve gone over about Scrabble wordfinders this week.
