Scrabble Cheat

Scrabble Cheats

A Scrabble cheat is a computer program designed to find the best Scrabble words from a particular letter combination. Online Scrabble players use Scrabble cheats extensively in their Internet Scrabble games. Online Scrabble cheat websites will have their own software for word compilation, usually under titles like “Scrabble word builder”, “Scrabble word constructor”, “Scrabble helper”, “Scrabble word finder” or “Scrabble solver”.

Best Scrabble Cheat Websites

The best Scrabble cheat software allows you to tailor the word finder to your particular needs. For instance, if you are building off the letter “A”, you could ask for a word list involving a combination of letters, but stipulate “A” as the beginning letter. Or if you are trying to build onto an “N” that will be the last letter, you could stipulate a letter combo with “N” as the final letter.

Also, you’ll need Scrabble cheat programs that account for “blank tiles”, the wild cards which can be any letter. I would suggest finding programs that allow for two blank tiles, since you’ll rarely have the occasion where both blanks end up in your rack.

Are Scrabble Cheat Sites Illegal?

“Scrabble cheats” are an open secret in the online Scrabble playing community. It’s pretty much assumed you are using some kind of word finding template when you are playing Scrabble on the Internet. The problem is, this might not help you improve your game very much, so if you play Scrabble competitively at a club or in live tournaments, you’re not going to be particularly skillful when it comes time for a live competition.

While Scrabble cheats and finders help you in online game, no official Scrabble tournament is going to let you use such a resource. I imagine live Scrabble players and purists look down on the Scrabble cheats, but they don’t have to worry too much about them ruining the Scrabble tournament experience. Live Scrabble is playing without a safety net.

Popular Scrabble Cheat Sites

Below are some of the most popular Scrabble cheat sites. Any one of these is going to spit out word lists for you according to either TWL or SOWPODS, but you’ll find a variety of options, so different Scrabble players will prefer different websites. Just Google the terms below to find them, or Google “Scrabble word cheat”.

Cheat-o-Matic is probably the most used Scrabble finder site. Their program is fast and efficient, but it doesn’t have many options for customization. If you have a slow computer, use Cheatomatic.

Win Every Game lets you add as much as 12 letters, while also giving an easier interface and the ability to input up to 3 blank tiles, for those house games. Probably not as fast a Cheatomatic, though, which can be important in a fast-paced online Scrabble game.

The customization aspect of Word Games Central’s wordfinder lets you place letters in tight spots and input complicated scenarios, though the interface is a little hard to learn and can be clunky. On the other hand, the word searches come up fast.

Scrabble 123 might be the best of the bunch. It’s quick, flexible and offers solid lists off either the TWL or SOWPODS word lists. This means you can play against opponents using either of the major Scrabble dictionaries.

A2Z Wordfinder helps you with partial words, though the rest of the Scrabble interface is relatively straightforward. If you play other word games and you’re looking for cheats, you can find a number of different word generators.

Scrabble Solver is the simplest and easiest to use, with no pop-ups, links or commercials. This is as simple as you get, though you won’t be able to customize the searches.

With six Scrabble cheat options to choose from, you should be able to find the right word search tool for your online Scrabble needs. I’ll try to review other Scrabble cheat sites as I come across them.
