Easy Online Crossword Puzzles
Crossword puzzles are a favorite pastime for people all over the world (not just for Scrabble players). Doctors encourage their patients to play word games like crossword puzzles to keep their minds sharp, and people who write for a living often sing the praises of crossword puzzles for getting the creative juices flowing.
I like to do a crossword puzzle with my morning coffee. It’s like java for my brain–before I set to work at my desk for eight hours straight, a crossword puzzle is like a morning constitutional for my neurons. Connecting words and putting my vocabulary through the wringer is the perfect compliment to a well-brewed cup of joe.
But you don’t have to wrestle with the Saturday New York Times puzzle every day. There are plenty of easy online crossword puzzles to choose from, some that even offer you the ability to type directly on your web browser, reveal difficult words that you may not be familiar with and help you finish the puzzle, or start over on a different puzzle if you don’t like the one you’re working.

Calling itself “the online crossword community,” the Puzzlers Cave offers a huge number of member-created and submitted themed crossword puzzles. None of these puzzles will cause you to break a sweat, but they aren’t so easy that you waltz right through them. Themed crossword puzzles are great warmups for studying or before I sit down to practice on guitar–they ignite the fires of my creativity and make me feel like I’ve accomplished something.
You can take your pick from Web Crosswords’ collections of “easy crosswords,” New York Times puzzles, printable puzzles, and a regularly updated series of daily crosswords. Though there are no theme puzzles here, the sheer variety makes it an easy stop for the crossword puzzle fanatic. The layout is simple and the design is as elegant and beautiful as any other puzzle site online.
Don’t let the name fool you–you don’t have to be from the Bluegrass State to appreciate the awesome puzzles here. There are lots of different categories of puzzles for you to browse, including different levels of difficulty, different themes, and even puzzles for kids and theme crosswords. You can print them or play their puzzles online, and for the student in your family, there are educational puzzles, such as theme puzzles for all 50 states and vocabulary-oriented crossword puzzles.
Easy online crossword puzzles are easy to come by. When looking for a good source for these puzzles, do like I did. Try out a ton of different sites, and you’ll find yourself naturally gravitating towards the site that works best for you. If you’re like me and you love them puzzles, you can find a lot of sites that offer themed puzzles. If, on the other hand, you prefer hard puzzles, puzzles for kids, cryptic puzzles, or New York Times reprint puzzles, there are sites that offer those types of crosswords as well.
One thing is for certain. Working on crossword puzzles will help you win at Scrabble more often.
