How To Play Subway Scrabble

Subway Scrabble Playing Tips

“Subway Scrabble” is a cross-promotion between the Subway sandwich franchise and Hasbro Incorporated, so learning how to play Subway Scrabble is going to involve more than one visit to the Jerod Fogle’s favorite restaurant. The basic idea of Subway Scrabble is to collect game pieces and build words to win. That’s the basics, but here the full scoop on playing Subway Scrabble.

Visit the Subway Website

Click on the Subway dotcom site and register an account there. Once you have an account, you’ll be able to use the Scrabble pieces you are collecting. Simply activate your account by clicking on the confirmation email that comes to your email address, like a hundred other confirmations you’ve probably done in your Internet career.

Collect Scrabble Pieces at Subway

Go to participating Subway restaurants and buy either submarine sandiwiches or soft drinks. These items will come with Scrabble game pieces, which are essentially letters with which to make Scrabble words. The more you collect, the better your chances of building a word and winning a prize.

Enter the Game Code

Each Subway Scrabble gamepiece comes with a game code. Simply enter this code into the appropriate prompt on the Subway website. Each time you enter a new code, you’ll be given one spin on the Scrabble prize wheel. This is the only first phase of the Scrabble Subway game.

Collect Subway Scrabble Letters

Even if you don’t win at the Scrabble spin game, you can still win. Every game piece you collect has a letter on it. There is an official Subway Scrabble word list. If you are able to build any of these words with your Scrabble pieces, you win a prize.

Trade the Rare Letters with Friends

There are certain letters that are harder to find and collect than others. The general wisdom is that there are two vowels, “A” and “U”, which are hard to find. Also, there are six consonants that are not as numerous: “F”, “L”, “N”, “V”, “W” and “Y”. Letters that you enter onto the Scrabble website to collect a prize are automatically invalidated (from winning a second prize), so the rare numbers stay rare.

When you have rare numbers that you can’t immediately use, ask any friends you know that also play the game if they have rare numbers that you can use. If so, trade your unused numbers for their numbers. If you don’t have friends who play, make friends online. When you find Internet Subway Scrabble players discussing the game, you can start to network.

Limited Time Offer

As with the McDonald’s Monopoly contest or any other corporate game, Subway Scrabble is only played for limited times throughout the year. If you don’t win this time around, play next year. Keep in mind that you won’t be able to save game pieces for next year, so while you won’t have to learn how to play a new version of Subway Scrabble next year, you might as well throw away all your game pieces once the limited time offer is finished.
